SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) is an intervention designed to assist parents and caregivers in learning to respond effectively to childhood anxiety by reducing behavioral accommodations. Developed at Yale Child Study Center, it is a powerful tool in reducing symptoms of OCD, Specific Phobias, and Generalized Anxiety.
At this time, I am offering individualized SPACE sessions, in a treatment course of 8-12 weeks. Over the course of these sessions, you will:
-
Learn to communicate with your child in ways that increase confidence in their growing ability to deal with anxiety effectively
-
Assist your child in developing the necessary emotion regulation skills to do so
-
Grow your own ability to stay steady and calm when your child is distressed
Stay tuned for group SPACE offerings, coming in Fall of 2025, designed to help you build skills in supporting your child as well as to connect and build relationships with other parents.
